The highlight of this week was my Connected Leadership book launch event at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in London. It was a lovely event with many clients and friends there as well as colleagues from Cirrus.
Jacqueline Moyse, head of organisational development at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, and Tanith Dodge, director of HR at Marks & Spencer, both described how their organisations represented many of the aspects of being a connected company – both organisations are case studies in my book.
Jacqueline described
how employees at each location are encouraged to create a brilliant hotel representing
the best of the local environment and also to maintain Mandarin Oriental's high standards
of care and quality. Tanith described how M&S has such strong and
embedded values which underpin customer service and quality, and yet which also
needed to be refined for the 21st century. Both organisations
are proud to be different, and both represent a fusion of tradition and
innovation. My next book launch event takes place at Alliance Manchester Business School on Tuesday, 19 January. If you're interested in coming along, please get in touch.
